“Nowhere” — Photobook
On October 7th, 2023, Hamas and several other terrorist organizations invaded Israel for the first time since the mid-20th century. The unrest in that region was far from the tranquility in the United States at the same time. This project aims to make the audience question our place as humans, in regard to world issues, which sometimes don’t touch some the way it may touch others. The stark contrast of the newspaper headlines to the empty landscapes of upstate New York highlight how easy it can be to just neglect the horrors happening elsewhere in the world for the bliss of ignorance. The choice is up to you.
Photographers are always pointing their camera at something. Sometimes it can be interesting to step in front of it yourself.

Rhetorical Image
Homelessness is an issue that affects every part of the world in similar and differentiating ways. Growing up in suburban Washington, D.C. I was not exposed to homelessness at all. Living in Ithaca for the past few years has opened my eyes to the way it seeps into life without much notice. This project forces you to interact with those who our societies and governments have left behind.
Sublime
Photography is a great tool to be able to freeze time, at least for one moment. Something that no human has control over. There are many things humans cannot contemplate and control. Photography allows one to capture these indescribable things in our universe, reminding us of our finite time on this Earth.
